PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – JANET RUSHMORE
We sure had our share of showers this Spring! I’m looking forward to lots of pretty colorful flowers for the next few months. The grass is green and the dandelions are reminding us that summer is on the way... finally! Our next meeting is on the 5th of May so wear a sombrero or bring your maracas to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with entertainer, Cathy Zang. A special guest, Rebecca Hetzer from Hosanna Industries, will return to tell us how important our Glove Drive is to their efforts of building and repairing homes for the less fortunate. We hope to collect at least another $400 as in the past, plus apply for the AARP National Grant to benefit this worthwhile non-profit organization. The official vote for next year’s officers and board members takes place at our next meeting. We continue to welcome someone with accounting and computer experience to step up and consider the office of Treasurer. We need to replace the Nominating chairperson so please volunteer as an individual or group to help with recruiting for next year. I truly feel blessed to have so many supportive members who make our Chapter so successful. Please don’t sit back and assume someone else with stand up. Just “do it” and become part of something that has its own rewards. You’ll be glad you did.
